2023.06.01 18:53 UnluckyLeadership436 I just became a Star Rider for life...A day before it went on sale
Hiii, this situation is funny, but I'm kinda mad. The thing is, I was debating on whether to get the for life star rider subscription, and i finally did two days ago. Imagine my reaction when I log in the day after and see that all memberships have a discount! And I paid full price!!! I chose to laugh it off, but it makes me a little mad :)

2023.06.01 18:45 ala4akbar When did Batista start to lose his top guy status in the WWE?
Batista (along with Cena) were 2 of the biggest stars to come out of Ruthless Aggression era 2002-07. In 2005 Batista in my opinion was at his peak both in popularity and his dominant physique/presence. When he returned from his injury in 2006 he was never quite the same again but it wasn’t until 2008 when it was clear that he was no longer the same draw as he was just a few short years earlier. He was bald, noticeably smaller and slower
2 questions for y’all. When would you say he started to lose his status? And what really contributed to that decline?

2023.06.01 18:43 pinguinconscious Former pro player Jean-René Lisnard talks about his experience on the tour: "Coria, Gaudio... They were assholes, bad guys".
The owner of the Elite Tennis Center in Cannes (where Daniil Medvedev went) hasn't made only friends during his career, but also some very fond memories.
The strongest player you've ever faced? My biggest impression is Nadal. I've played Federer, Djokovic, Agassi... The best is Nadal. Every point is hell. He has a monstrous shot quality. If you're up 40-0 against anyone, you think the game's almost won. Not against Nadal. He never gives up and you can feel it. When he takes control with his forehand, it's only a matter of time before you lose the point. He eats you up.
When I play Roland with juniors, I show them Nadal in training. He plays two against one. And he puts maximum intensity on every shot. I tell the kids, "Look, he's got 500 million in his account, over 20 Grand Slams (22), but he's still on the ball on everything, all the time."
The craziest? Roberto Carretero. A Spaniard who won a Masters 1000 in Hamburg one year (1996). Out of nowhere. Nice guy, but completely crazy, whimsical. He was impressive, with incredible thighs. The Hulk in white! But he was a bit of a yo-yo. I played him in Palermo, in the qualifiers. As soon as we warmed up, he had an incredible kick and was lobbing me at the limit. I said to myself: "I've got to put everything into the first two games. Because he had three times my tennis, but he could go crazy and swing. I think I won 6-0, 1-6, 6-0. In the set he won, he was doing retro bunted returns on my first balls. He had mad talent. But he disappeared as quickly as he appeared.
In Short - 43 years old (FRA-MCO), right-handed, one-handed backhand, 1.73 m.
- Turned pro in 1997.
- Best ranking: 84th in January 2003.
- 2003: 3rd round at the Australian Open (his best Grand Slam result).
- 2006: Becomes a citizen of Monaco, for which he will defend the colors in the Davis Cup (12 v.-8 d.).
The funniest? Michaël Llodra. He'll dare anything. His classic was throwing buckets of water at people. He'll throw food at you on the spur of the moment. He'll leave your snowshoe bag in a bush at a freeway service area and tell you 20 kilometers down the road. He did that to Marc Gicquel. We were driving back to Paris after a match in Rennes. When he finally said it, we took the next exit, turned around and the bag was in the bush... It could have gone far with him.
He could have lost you a match at the Australian Open in 2005 with his "Allez Goran! No ? (smiles) We used to play team matches together in the winter. I'm not very tall, so to make fun of me, he used to call me "Goran Ivanisevic". We were on the same team, but his aim was to get me to make double faults. Then came the Australian Open. He had just lost his first round match (against Sébastien Grosjean). I was going to serve for the match. Then, as I came into the stands, he said to me: "Go Goran! Result: first point of the game, double fault. Damn! Pierre Gautier, my coach at the time, told him to piss off. Fortunately, I won the game and the match (victory 5-7, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4, 7-5 against Oliver Marach).
But yes, Mika has no limits. He was always pissing off the guy in front of him on the plane by slapping him. Every flight, every tournament. Every double in Futures, there was a fight. He'd light guys on fire three feet from the net. He also made Benoît Paire pull the pin in Miami (in 2013). Aside from that, he's a very generous guy. On a whim, he can invite you to the most beautiful restaurant in Miami and spend 3,000 euros. He's all there.
The meanest? (Guillermo) Coria, (Gaston) Gaudio (finalist and winner respectively at Roland-Garros 2004), all those guys. Assholes, bad guys who looked down on us. I played Gaudio in Amsterdam (2003), and he looked down on me. So I beat him (6-0, 7-6). Yes, when you don't respect the guy... He arrived ten minutes late, he almost got scratched (disqualified), he carried his racquet bag like a handbag, he looked down on me. And he never said hello to me.
(Tomas) Berdych is the same, he never says hello. He's 80 times my career (Paris-Bercy winner 2005, Wimbledon finalist 2010), and yet I beat him in Monte-Carlo. There was also the Austrian (Daniel) Köllerer, who was completely mad. I think he was on drugs. He was imitating his opponents, taking the piss out of them... Everyone wanted to beat the shit out of him (he'll be suspended for life in 2011 for match-fixing).
The fairest? Magnus Norman. US Open 2003, I beat him, saving a match point (6-2, 6-2, 6-7, 0-6, 7-6 in the first round) and cramping up. I couldn't play anymore, I don't know how I won the match. An hour later, he came to see me. At first, I thought he was going to yell at me, that he must think I'd been acting up: "My hat's off to you! Have you recovered? Good luck with the rest." Very classy.
Your most daring career choice? Going to the Bollettieri Academy (in Florida) when I was 11. A guy who coached there, Sekou Bangoura, was on vacation in Cannes. He happened to drop by the club and saw me. And because I was so strong as a youngster, I stayed for three years. That's where I learned to fend for myself. I had seven dollars a day, I calculated, I did my own laundry... There were 400 kids. The only one who never went to evening duty to do his homework was me!
Tennis-wise, it wasn't very good, but there was a military rigor, a state of mind. In my group of eight, everyone was at least top 200 or even top 100: Iva Majoli (1st in 1996), Tommy Haas (2nd in 2002), Gabriel Trifu (148th in 2002), Max Mirnyi (18th in 2003), Anna Kournikova (8th in 2000)...
Worst moment? My meningitis. I think it was in 2008. I was so close to dying. I spent a week in bed and was called twice by the SOS doctor. We flew to Finland for a Davis Cup match with Monaco. Incredible headache. On Thursday evening, I start vomiting. I tell the guys: "Get me to hospital quickly. The longest twenty minutes of my life, because then you feel like you're going.
When I got to the hospital, I was paralyzed on my whole left side. I was vomiting every three minutes. I could hear everything, but I couldn't speak or move. I have a vague idea of what a coma is, since I was in one for a few hours... After that, I was bedridden for two months, and when I went back to work, I had a crack in my hip that had never hurt before. I had to have an operation and was out of action for fifteen months. After that, you're 90 years old. After that, you appreciate everything. At Helsinki airport, I had an espresso: well, that was the best of my life!
And the best memory? The 2011 US Open. I almost didn't go because I didn't have the level; I was barely winning at -15, -30. I was playing team matches on clay in Switzerland, I hadn't played a match on hard court all summer, and I was teaching on the side... But my coach at the time, Guillaume Couillard, had never been to New York, so I used my protected ranking (he'd had hip surgery in 2010) to get into the qualifiers.
And then, the father of a kid I'd trained invited me to sleep at his place. What I didn't know was that he was ultra-fortunate! I end up in Greenwich, with houses worth 20 million. In training, I go 6-2 every day. Guillaume and I have a row and don't speak for two days.
Then the qualifiers start. My hip hurts, I can feel it's the end. The first round was a struggle. After that, I play the best tennis of my career. I beat (Paul) Capdeville and (Paolo) Lorenzi. Then Olivier Rochus in the main draw, my only Grand Slam victory in three sets (7-6, 6-2, 6-4). After that, I couldn't do it any more, my leg was too sore (eliminated by Florian Mayer in three sets). I was pretty proud because I'd just come back from nowhere.
His life as a former pro player Once he had put away his rackets, which he used at the end of his career (until 2013) almost exclusively to defend Monaco's Davis Cup colors, Jean-René Lisnard branched out into coaching and founded the Tennis Elite Center in Cannes, where Daniil Medvedev, among others, grew up. Today, the Center trains sisters Erika and Mirra Andreeva, Varvara Gracheva, Anna Blinkova, Hugo Grenier and Alexandre Müller, among others.

2023.06.01 18:42 MFlippin [WTS] Maverick, LUDT, Mini Evo, Atelier, Troodon, Hera, J Cape Mini, Recon 035, Clyde and some Maui Jim’s
Still thinning out the collection and have some new knives up for sale as well as some reposted ones with another round of price drops and finally a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses! All are PayPal friends and family Conus only please!
Timestamp:
https://imgur.com/a/820aRxu First up is a reposted Tactile Turn Ti Maverick(A-)- this knife has not been carried or used either and is just a bit large for my preference. The action seems ok but not as fidget friendly as my other axis lock knives. This also comes with an extra pocket clip, posts and a patch as when I received it the knife was missing a screw in the clip. I emailed tactile turn and they sent me an extra clip, posts and screws as well as a little TT patch. Asking $255 PayPal friends and family only.
Maverick:
https://imgur.com/a/scbdCOv Microtech LUDT(B). This knife has been one of my favorite knives and the action is great. I just found another model that I preferred the blade finish on so I’m letting this one go. There are a few small scuffs on the handle and a small one on the blade but other than this it’s in good shape! Asking $190 PayPal friends and family!
LUDT:
https://imgur.com/a/2kbBWp7 Sharp by Design Mini Evo(A-). This knife is basically brand new from the most recent drop and has only been fidgeted with. I cannot find any issues whatsoever with it but am rating an A- and pricing it lower just in case. Asking $335 PayPal friends and Family
Mini Evo:
https://imgur.com/a/iXf8PFn Giantmouse Ace Atelier Ti(A-). This knife is also brand new and only fidgeted with. Like the evo it was never carried and I cannot find anything wrong with it. Asking $235 PayPal friends and family.
Ace Atlelier:
https://imgur.com/a/7QIzS2Y Microtech Troodon(B) this knife has been carried a fair amount but I did not find any issues with it either. There could be some slight scuffs from carrying it but none that jumped out at me. I’m rating it a B to be safe since I carried and used it a few weeks. This is the regular Troodon variant (mid size) and is blue. I noticed the video and pictures made it look darker so I wanted to point that out. Asking $300 PayPal friends and family!
Microtech Troodon:
https://imgur.com/a/PxHWbLV Microtech Hera(B). This knife is fairly new and only used for about a week. Not much cutting other than maybe a box or two. I cannot see any issues or scuffs on it but rated it a B to be safe. Black with drop point apocalyptic blade. Asking $335 PayPal friends and family
Microtech Hera: forgot to take more pictures of this one but it is in the timestamp. Will add extra photos this evening!
Something Obscene J Cape Mini(A)- I was just not a fan of the style or size of knife. It’s basically brand new only been flipped open and closed a few times and has a factory fresh blade! Asking $250 PayPal F&F Conus only please.
Mini J Cape:
https://imgur.com/a/8DygydC Guardian Tactical Recon 035 (B+)- This knife does not appear to have any issues however I have carried it a few times and have fidgeted with it several times over the year or so I’ve had it. So I am rating it a B+ to be safe. Action is super smooth on this otf and despite my love for Microtech I will say is much better than any of my Microtech otf’s. Blade is a distressed black drop point in Elmax steel. Asking $180 PayPal friends and family only please.
Recon 035:
https://imgur.com/a/ Giantmouse Ace Clyde(B+)This knife was carried a fair amount but not used to cut much and was never sharpened. Rating it a B to be safe but I cannot see any issues with it and the action is really smooth. Asking $80 PayPal friends and family conus only please.
Clyde:
https://imgur.com/a/vLOeUjF Finally pair of Maui Jim Shoals(B). These have only been worn a handful of times and we’re just a little small for my face. They are brown with bronze lenses and I am unable to see any scratches on the lenses anywhere. They are polarized and we’re around $350 new. I have the sunglasses case that came with them but don’t think I have the outer box. They were purchased from sunglass hut so I’m certain they are genuine! Asking $200 OBO PayPal friends and family!
Shoal:

2023.06.01 18:39 Brickwallpictures Why The Father (2020) works so well while The Son (2022) doesn't
Note that the video version of this review includes clips for reference and comparison. Florian Zeller has directed two films thus far—"The Father" and "The Son"—but don’t mistake him for some new, up-and-coming filmmaker. He’s been around for a long, long time as an author and playwright. In fact, both of his films thus far have been adapted from his own stage plays.
I saw "The Father" right when it came out and was blown away. It was in my top five for the year, and I found it to be an all-around excellent piece of work. My rule for directors is to avoid forming any sort of overall judgment on them until I’ve seen at least two if not three of their movies, and let me tell you, that rule was well-placed in Florian Zeller’s case.
After loving "The Father" so much, I was, unsurprisingly, excited for Zeller’s next film “The Son,” which doesn’t share any characters or plot points but is still something of a spiritual sequel in a dramatic and thematic sense. While "The Father" was one of my top films of the year, "The Son" is tied for my lowest-rated film of 2022 at this point. So, what happened? How does the same writer, director adapting his own source material twice in a row culminate in two pieces of work at opposite ends of the quality spectrum? Unlike a lot of critics, I don’t enjoy being overly negative. I prefer to sing the praises of films I love rather than tear down the ones I don’t, but this is too interesting of a case study to ignore. Rather than just breaking down why "The Son" is a bit of a failure, I’m going to also take this opportunity to explore why "The Father" works so well at the same time. And given that The Son is still relatively new, I’ll avoid spoilers, even though the ending is one of the biggest issues with it. I won’t spoil the father either, so if you haven’t seen one or both, don’t worry.
"The Father" is a chamber drama about an elderly man’s battle with dementia and his struggle to maintain control and order in his life. "The Son" is about man’s struggle to parent a teenager with adolescent depression. Both films are heavy dramas that tackle mental-health subject matter and make for appropriate companion pieces to one another, except Zeller’s writing and directing are at such drastically different calibers for each film.
Notice how I said "The Father" is about a character experiencing a mental health struggle, while "The Son" ISN’T. Contrary to what you might assume or might have been led to believe, "The Son" is not a film about a teenager’s battle with depression, it’s about that teenager’s father dealing with his son’s depression. This distinction could sound minor, but that perspective shift makes a world of difference.
"The Father" is thoroughly grounded in the point-of-view of its main character. The audience is invited into his mind, and Zeller’s remarkable directorial choices replicate the sensations of dementia by disorienting the viewer alongside the character. Actors swap out to play the same role, time contracts and loops in unpredictable ways, and creative editing choices keep the character and the audience off-balance for almost the entire duration. All of these directorial flourishes are flashy and impressive, sure, but they’re also substantive and create such a strong sense of perspective for the deeply personal drama to unfold.
Of course, "The Son" can’t employ the same bag of tricks, but it also makes no attempt to visualize or simulate the burden of depression in the way Zeller tackled dementia. There is no attempt to place the audience in the son’s point of view nor are viewers even invited to understand or empathize with his struggle. This troubled teen is the center of the film’s drama but he isn’t the main character, with the film instead being told from his father’s point of view. To put it simply, "The Father" creates a compelling, distinctive, character-based experience for the viewer through its creative choices, whereas The Son just doesn’t.
This stylistic change on its own could be fine as long as the father character’s perspective felt realized and compelling and as long as the depiction of depression felt real and nuanced from this external vantage point, but the film drops the ball on both counts. Many of these shortcomings stem from Zeller’s script, but the performances need to share some of the burden, unfortunately.
The 2021 Best Lead Performance Oscar race was pretty tight. I would have been happy with Riz Ahmed winning for The Sound of Metal, but Sir Anthony Hopkins winning was a totally worthy pick for "The Father." He really does deliver what I consider to be perhaps his best performance in this role, out of a career that is, of course, filled with many great performances. He taps into a vulnerability that he hasn’t been afforded the runway to express in many years, and he portrays the heartbreaking nature of dementia in a wholly believable way, alongside all of the far-ranging moods and emotions that entails. You also had great supporting performances from Olivia Colman, Olivia Williams, Imogen Poots, Mark Gatiss, and Rufus Sewell to round out the cast.
In "The Son," the adult cast consists of Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, and Vanessa Kirby, while the teenager at the heart of the drama is played by Zen McGrath in his first starring film role. I’m sorry to say that he does not come out of this thing looking good. He’s serviceable in some scenes, but whenever he has to yell or cry, which is frequently, he simply doesn’t deliver the caliber of performance necessary to carry the film. This portrayal of depression isn’t believable in the slightest, and the fault for that can be pretty evenly divided between McGrath’s performance and Zeller’s writing.
I don’t want to put too much blame on McGrath himself though. He’s young and it’s a tough role, and it’s really on Zeller to be able to know that his star isn’t up to the challenge when casting. I also think it’s safe to place the majority of the blame on Zeller because the other performances are weak too, which is always a telltale sign that the fault lies with the director more than the cast. Vanessa Kirby does a fine job, and Anthony Hopkins again shines in his single-scene appearance, but Hugh Jackman and Laura Dern are both extremely far from their best. "The Son" makes the two of them look like much worse actors than they are. They’ve both been great in plenty of other films, but Dern and especially Jackman seem lost and out of their depth in these roles.
I was surprised to learn that this was an important role to Jackman and that he even went out of his way to pursue the film and send Zeller a letter asking for the part, which isn’t something he is in a habit of doing. They are not aided by the fact that the bulk of the dialogue in "The Son" sounds completely stilted and unnatural. It’s the kind of dialogue that might work perfectly well on the stage and/or in French, Zeller’s native language, but in the context of a feature film, it just sounds phony.
Jackman’s other pitfall is his accent. He’s Australian, of course, but has given plenty of convincing American accents in movies in the past. "The Son" is not one of those times. His accent is a mess; it's all over the place. He sounds relatively on target throughout the early stages of the film, but once the drama knob cranks up and he has to get emotional, he loses the accent entirely. He doesn’t slip into Australian but his American accent becomes cartoonish and any commitment to a specific regional accent goes out the window. His fluctuating accent honestly made me laugh a couple of times in the back half of the film.
Zen McGrath is also Australian, and I’ll say I actually think he did a much better job with the accent than Jackman, but it surely didn’t help that he was having to act in a phony accent while already struggling to meet the dramatic demands of the role. But forget about McGrath for a minute; even with the best actor in the world in this part, it would be tough for anyone to make the character believable as he's written. This is such a surface-level, uninformed portrayal of depression. It’s hard to escape the sensation that Zeller lacks the perspective necessary to tell this story in an authentic manner. Given that he says the film was influenced by his experiences parenting a teenager with depression, it makes sense that he would frame the story from the father’s point of view, but neither character feels dimensional or even believable in their actions. Jackman’s character is frustratingly out-of-touch in a way that doesn’t feel based in character as much as it feels emotionally untrue.
It isn’t just the character that feels out of touch but the film itself as well. If you read interviews with Zeller, you will find that time after time he has said that his goal with the film is to raise awareness about depression and mental health struggles in general. That’s all well and good, but it would mean a whole lot more if the film had anything worthwhile to say about its subject matter. The film is content with simply acknowledging that depression exists and is a serious matter. And it’s like, yeah, we all know that, the movie came out in 2022, you’re a little late with that message. Maybe 20 years ago that would have been a worthwhile message to put out there, but you’re a little behind the times. Even the stage-play version of The Son was performed for the first time in 2019, which is still long after depression has been tackled in far more effective ways by dozens of other films. It isn’t enough to just go, "Boy, depression sure is tough, isn’t it?" Especially when your portrayal of depression is so cartoonishly shallow and inauthentic.
This facile depiction of the themes wasn’t an issue in "The Father." Zeller’s presentation of dementia felt remarkably authentic, empathetic, intimate, and lived-in. It felt real, whereas nothing in "The Son" feels real in the slightest. What we’re left with is a film that feels artificial at every turn while insisting that it’s so heavy and emotional and true. It’s melodramatic and emotionally manipulative, and not even effectively so.
I could write another half-dozen paragraphs breaking down why the ending is manipulative B.S., further muddies the themes, and is kind of a slap in the face to anyone who has actually experienced depression, but I said I would avoid spoilers, so let’s end it there.
In closing, I recommend checking out "The Father." Instead of watching "The Son," if you want a film that tackles depression and executes every conceivable element of the filmmaking process infinitely better, I recommend the South Korean film "Peppermint Candy."

2023.06.01 18:16 DrRoy Expiring from the Criterion Channel in June 2023: Erotic Thrillers and all sorts of other films!
My recommendations:
- Some of the 80s Horror collection is very much worth your time. Brain Damage especially has one of the most compelling villains in cinema history, and Society's visual effects are legendarily fucked up.
- If you haven't gotten to Body Double, please do! As much a sneaky work of meta-art as it is a rollicking good time.
- The Task is a documentary that films a psychological study in progress, and I think the results help illuminate why it's so hard to get a bunch of people in a given room, especially on the internet, to agree on even the basic terms of a discussion.
- I don't have to tell you to watch The Wicker Man or Mulholland Dr., do I?
I'm interested in:
- In a Lonely Place is a mod flair so I can't not do it.
- Manhunter features Brian Cox (from the recently-finale'd Succession) as Hannibal Lecter.
- Election, because Johnnie To films are hard enough to find without them expiring off streaming platforms.
The List:

2023.06.01 18:01 GrayLando June Discussion Thread
Some thoughts as we head into the summer:
- The Card Shop Live sale last month was pretty awesome for anyone that got in early and was able to work out the free shipping. Hoping to see more of that as stores clear the way for LOTR and Commander Masters.
- LOTR previews have started and anticipation for the set is flying high. Drops 6/23, so pre-release is almost here. With the copious amount of product lines and Hasbro’s penchant for printing to the ground, you have to believe they are going hard on printing this one. What are you planning to buy? Holding or ripping? Who’s going to get that 1 of 1 curly boi!
- Have people started to warm up to Aftermath? After the leak and Pinkerton fiasco sentiment was crazy low, but maybe there are actually some decent cards in the set.
- Did they just reprint the Collector Edition Warhammer 40K decks? That could be a problem. Zendikar gift boxes were reprinted too right? What other products that were supposedly a single printing ended up not being?
Big thanks to everyone that's shared deals through the sub over the last month!

2023.06.01 17:47 Gr8fulBanana How much does a clutch typically cost to put in? Should I do this myself or buy a new bike?
Last year I had a fall on gravel going 5mph. The clutch got bent and had a few scratches but I rode it home just fine. Cut to this year I rode my bike a few times with no issue and a couple weeks ago it just started giving out on the highway. As in it wouldn’t let me go past 40mph but if I kept it under I could ride. It crapped out on me on the highway but the cop let me take the next exit and get it home via side streets. When I took it in I figured it was a loose hose or carburetor issue. Only for them to tell me it’s a worn out/bent clutch and it will be $900 to fix. Is this shop trying to take advantage of me? I see that clutch kits go for under $100 on Amazon. My dad is trying to tell me to just scrap the bike and get a new one. I have no mechanic experience but I’ve fixed stuff on cars via YouTube. Is that what would you would do? Is it worth it? Any and all advice is appreciated!!
Edit: Yamaha V star is the model. I got from my grandfather.

2023.06.01 17:46 TryingToDoGreatStuff Percy Jackson and the Olympians Disney+ (2024) [Alternate Casting]
Note: I got the inspiration and idea to make this post from this other post =>
https://www.reddit.com/Fancast/comments/132iysy/sam_raimis_spiderman_trilogy_20022007_alternate/. I don't know if there are any Percy Jackson & the Olympians fans on this subreddit, but I'm really excited for the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians series that's coming to Disney+ and that will be faithful adapting the "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" book/novel for it's first season. Now..., I'm pretty much fine with the cast we already have that's going to be in the first season of the series/show, but I would be remiss if I didn't ever give out what would've been my ideal dream cast for the live-action adaptation of the series/show. Since I'm pretty much fine with the cast we currently have right now, there will be a lot of actors or actresses here that I will not even bother to give alternative casting choices for and so to help compensate for that, I'll be giving some possible casting choices for characters that will presumably show up and appear in season 2 of the series/show when they eventually adapt book 2, "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters".
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Disney+ (2024) [Alternate Casting] Alternate Cast:
- Christian Convery as Perseus "Percy" Jackson/Seaweed Brain (just simply dye his hair black and slap some green colored contact lenses on his eyes and he would've been perfect for the role of Percy Jackson...) (Plus, he would've been exactly twelve years old at the start of filming)
- Isaiah Russell-Bailey as Grover Underwood a.k.a G-man a.k.a Goat Boy (yes..., I am aware of the fact that he would've been 15 years old at the start of filming and he then would've been 16 years old by the time filming ended/wrapped/concluded, but I want to remind you that in the original "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" book/novel, Grover Underwood's description reads as, "He must’ve been held back several grades, because he was the only sixth grader with acne and the start of a wispy beard on his chin.")
- Mia Talerico as Annabeth Chase a.k.a Wise Girl (just simply give her some stormy grey colored contact lenses for her to wear) (Note: Filming for Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series began in June 2022 and concluded in February 2023, so she would've been only 13 years old at the start of filming and she then would've been 14 years old by the time filming ended/wrapped/concluded => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6msQXbP7S0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU4IvVLMvqc)
- Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
- Jason Mantzoukas as Mr. D / Dionysus a.k.a the god of wine and pleasure (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
- Megan Mullally as Mrs. Dodds / Alecto (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
- Glynn Turman as Mr. Brunner / Chiron (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
- Vincent D'Onofrio as Smelly Gabe / Gabe Ugliano
- Olivea Morton as Nancy Bobofit (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
- Mackenzie Hancsicsak as Clarisse LaRue (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfT9eLxTv1c and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KekStQVWgIA)
- Vincent Muller as Luke Castellan (just simply dye his hair sandy blonde and give him a fake thick white scar that runs just beneath his right eye to his jaw and I think he would've been perfect for the role of Luke Castellan... => https://www.imdb.com/name/nm12606695/)
- Jessica Parker Kennedy as Aunty Em / Medusa (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
- Suzanne Cryer as Echidna a.k.a the Mother of Monsters (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
- Dave Bautista as Ares a.k.a the ancient Greek god of war and the spirit of battle (I mean come on..., it just would've been the perfect casting choice => https://scontent-atl3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/100636302_10158267382370540_1698036121000214528_n.jpg?stp=cp0_dst-jpg_e15_fr_q65&_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=2d5d41&_nc_ohc=YNR8o3HoMAsAX8Dan4a&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.xx&oh=00_AfBNJvAr8v1Fg6iSbTAx7xdr4MsLWAV1OCUGxvoiYT9dsg&oe=64A02427 and https://www.inkedmag.com/.image/c_limit%2Ccs_srgb%2Cq_auto:good%2Cw_1400/MTgxMTU3MDA0NDAyNzYyODQw/dave-3.webp and https://media.zigcdn.com/media/reels/2022/Dec/389527274-1main.jpg and https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/olympians/images/4/4a/Ares_Rocco.png/revision/latest?cb=20190313203137) (Plus, Dave Bautista's mother is of Greek descent so he actually does have Greek ancestry.)
- Ewan McGregor as Hermes a.k.a the god of travelers, gamblers, merchants, thieves, messengers, and all others who make their lives on the road
- Jay Duplass as Hades a.k.a the god of the dead a.k.a the king of the Underworld (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
- Timothy Omundson as Hephaestus a.k.a the god of fire (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
- Toby Stephens as Poseidon a.k.a Earthshaker a.k.a Stormbringer a.k.a Father of Horses a.k.a the god of the Sea (I actually really like this casting and I think it's pretty much perfect casting, so I'm not going to recast it)
Potential Cast for Season 2:
- Hudson Yang as Tyson a.k.a the paternal half-brother of Percy Jackson (yes..., I am aware of the fact that he's already about to turn 20 years old, but I'd like to see you all try to find a 13 or 14 or 15 year old actor who's over six feet tall lol)
- Ty Consiglio as Matt Sloan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyCw_qJW5SA)
- The Haim Sisters as The Gray Sisters (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VN8dienBP9I)
- David Bradley as Tantalus (After starring in both Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, I think it'll finally feel complete if this dude also stars in Percy Jackson and the Olympians lol...)
- Eva Green as Circe a.k.a the Greek goddess of magic
- John DeSantis as Polyphemus
- Lola Flanery as Thalia Grace
