Gigabyte b650 aorus elite ax review
Installing Windows 11 on new B650 PC
2023.06.01 17:53 Stoorob75 Installing Windows 11 on new B650 PC
Trying to install Windows 11 on my new PC. I've got the Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX and created the Windows 11 install on my MacBook. FAT32 external drive, using Homebrew and wimlib.
Error I'm getting is pretty much right after clicking the Install button:
'a media driver your computer needs is missing'
Any idea how to get around this?

2023.06.01 17:22 Sodiumflare Existing NVMe drives in new build
I have a 7950X3D and X670 Aorus Elite AX that failed today. I will need to build effectively a new PC with new CPU and motherboard. Because the PC failed entirely, and I can't even access the bios, one of my NVMe drives still has Win11 installed on it. When I move this drive to my new build, I will need to reformat the drive to wipe Windows from it, and start fresh. How do I do this before installing Windows? Can I reformat the drive from the BIOS?

2023.06.01 17:20 mBuxx Any special bios settings for 7950x3d?
Hello, it has been many years since I’ve built a pc. Last time I built one was an overclocked i3, LOL. Seems things have gone backwards with these latest gen cpus.
I have actually seen posts about this chip melting so it has be a bit concerned. Is there anything I should change in order not to cause harm out of the box.
I’ll be assembling my pc this weekend.
- Corsair 5000d airflow
- 7950x3d
- Arctic liquid freezer II 360 *gigabyte b650 auros elite ax
- Asus strix 750m
- CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36
- buncha fans
- asus tuf gtx 3070 (I know not the greatest but i already had it) *1tb ssd, 2x 8tb hdd
I will not be doing a lot of gaming. The only game I’ve ever played is counter strike lol. This pc will be mostly used for processing Astrophotography and media

2023.06.01 16:48 royspector Question regarding Gigabyte 4090 gaming OC and B650E Aorus Master
Hi first post here... Just bought an AMD 7950x and I'm going to get the GPU and motherboard next. I want to buy the Gigabyte 4090 mostly to avoid coil whine. Looking for a motherboard that'll be compatible with these 2 parts.
Been searching for motherboards, and currently thinking of buying the B650E Aorus Master.
I'm mostly worried that the GPU won't fit with the motherboard well. Block some ports / cables for example. The reason this is even on my mind, is I've seen someone say the usb 3.2 gen 2 port is unreachable when using the 4090 anti-sag bracket (this was said about the B650 AORUS ELITE AX motherboard).
Anyone feels like sharing their opinions about it? Any suggestions for a different motherboard will be appreciated too, if this one has any issues I missed. Thanks in advance!

2023.06.01 16:27 Looe2006 First build complete :)
My first build all complete, mistakes and all I really enjoyed it and just happy that I can finally use it. Specs will be below, when it came to first having the idea of building, I did not want to spend more than £1000, I ended up buying the cpu first (bit of a mistake bearing in mind what gpu is sitting in there now), a 5600x which I got for £130 a steal really. I wish I had saved up a bit more and went for the 5800x3d which would have been a better partner for the monster of a gpu. As you can see the graphics card is a rx 6950 xt from XFX which I recently got off Amazon for £570 again another bargain. Finally I would like to say thanks for all the help I got off this sub Reddit even if it was just reading others questions or asking questions for myself :)
Ohh and I wish I had chosen a decent quality case to build in, this case looks nice but is horribly built.
Specs:
CPU - R5 5600x - £130 MB - Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX V2 Wi-Fi - £150 RAM - Viper steel 3600mhz 2x16GB - £70 GPU - XFX Merc 319 RX 6950 XT - £570 PSU - EVGA Supernova 750 GA - £60 CPU cooler - Deepcool AK620 - £60 SSD - Solidigm P41 plus 1 TB - £40 Case - CiT Crossfire mid tower case - £50

2023.06.01 15:58 Jurassicparkranger AM5 bracket for Corsair h115i?
Hello! I am updating my PC, I have a Corsair H115i that I have been using as the cooling system and would like to continue using it after my PC update. (Part number: CW-9060027-WW).
My update will use a X670 AORUS Elite Ax MOBO and an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 as the CPU
My understanding is that my current H115i will not fit on the AM5 chips without a mounting bracket. I contacted Corsair support about sourcing an AM4 mounting bracket (Part number: CW-8960046), they approved the request and then followed up by saying they no longer manufacture the part and I could get a 15% off discount code...
Response from Corsair Support:
" We’re sorry to inform you that unfortunately, we are unable to provide the part you are requesting as we no longer manufacture it. We apologize, please advise if you'd accept a discount code for the inconvenience. "
My cooler works great and I'm really hoping to not have to replace an entire water cooler because of the absence of a $10 mounting bracket. Are there any third-party alternatives that people have used successfully to mount an h115i to the newer AM5/AM4 chips?
Thank you!

2023.06.01 15:29 GGBeavis Mid-tier build
Bought a Sapphire 6700XT for 350€ which seemed like a good deal, so I'm now looking to complete the rest. Goal is to build an overall good machine for 2k gaming so that, if in 2-3 years I want to upgrade cpu/gpu, I don't need to touch the rest (except psu if the gpu requires it).

2023.06.01 14:36 skx45 AM5 PC takes around 2 minutes to POST
So this is a brand new PC, it was built yesterday, I will list the spec and run through the changes made.
Motherboard: Gigabyte X370 Aorus Elite AX CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X
Memory: Klevv 64gb (4 x 16gb) DDR5 6000mhz
SSD: 2x Crucial Pcie Gen 5 M.2 (1000gb and 2000gb)
PSU: Corsair 1000W
GPU: RTX 4080
The PC was fine when it was first built, the first change was taking out the RGB PCie extender for the graphics card, as it was no longer required. Once the extender was removed, and the GPU power was connected directly to the PSU PCie plugins, it refused to POST. I removed all memory except for one stick, and it POSTed fine again, the PC refused to POST with all memory plugged back in.
I then tried all components on a different motherboard, and it worked fine. I removed the original board from the case, plugged everything back in, and it worked fine outside the case. However, the issue now is it takes around 1-2 minutes to POST.
The issue is driving me insane, any help would be much appreciated.

2023.06.01 14:14 MrImpetuous First time build ~ £1500
Hello,
I'm thinking of upgrading my current computer by just a new build to be honest, but I'm open to suggestions. This is my current build - however it is quite old and I don't think its worth trying to retain any parts
CPU - i7 7700k
Mobo - ASUS® PRIME B250-PLUS: ATX, LGA1151, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs
GPU - GTX 1080
PSU - CORSAIR 550W VS SERIES
CPU Cooler - CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 120 High Performance Liquid Cooler
This is the build that I've currently got going
[[PCPartPicker Part List](
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/VcRPMb)
Is this capable of 1440p 144fps gaming? Also, is it worth going for the 6950xt or waiting for the supposed new 7000-series AMD cards that should be releasing soon.
Thanks!

2023.06.01 10:15 ZeroX739 M.2 dissapeared
Hello, yesterday I was playing a PC game when the screen suddenly froze out of nowhere, and I couldn't do anything except restarting the PC using the button. After the restart, I couldn't see the M.2 Aorus Gen4 D drive, not even in the BIOS. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting it, removing the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS, reinstalling Windows, but nothing helped. I've had the drive for over a year, and this already happened once a week after I installed it in the PC, but simply disconnecting and reconnecting it solved the issue. Do you know what could be wrong with it? Motherboard: B560M Aorus Elite Processor: i5 11400F Graphics card: Gigabyte RTX 3060 12GB RAM: DDR4 16GB 2666MHz Power supply: Some 650W Seasonic The processor has a cooler, connected to a hub that is integrated into the case.

2023.06.01 10:05 Equivalent-Rice-5880 GPU won’t go in
I’m almost finished with my build but the gpu just doesn’t want to go in. Sometimes the right side of the pcie slot lets it in a bit and then kinda closes but there’s still a lot of metal there and the gpu is very loose. It’s also not centered on the screw hole for the expansion slots. I’ve tried using pretty much all my effort to push it in and it won’t work. I’m using a 4090 gaming oc and gigabyte b650 Aorus pro ax. Could the motherboard being slightly off affect this?

2023.06.01 09:55 Yorecs NZXT H7 Flow or Fractal Design Pop XL Air
For my next case I was thinking going either H7 Flow or Pop XL Air but can't decide which one.
Currently leaning towards Pop XL because it comes with all the fans I need and is 1lbs lighter.
Not going for water cooling, too much hastle for me.
Was planning on pairing the case with a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX and a RX 7900xt Sapphire Pulse or Nitro+. And need some clearence for Noctua NH-D15.
Some advice for which case to go for would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 PRO 22H2
GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin 23.5.1
Chipset Drivers: AMD Chipset Drivers 5.05
Background Applications: N/A, issue is happening with burn in test
Description of Original Problem: I am unable to run any level of EXPO/XMP/DOCP profile on this system with stable CPU test run by OCCT. I have tried a myriad of configurations that will list below.
I am wondering if this is more indicative of the CPU or the Motherboard, or maybe I should wait for a more mature BIOS to drop.
I'm also open to any more manual memory profiles to try, to see if I can get 6000Mhz to work.
Troubleshooting: I have swapped for a different memory kit (same manufacturer). I have a new CPU in the mail on the way to test to see if it might be the CPU.I will start with the settings that
PASSED - Standard Auto Out-of-the-box no tweaking/overclocking done at all. Let the computer be the computer. CPU burn in 30 minutes @ 95 C, 4.8 Ghz
- Standard JEDEC memory speed/timings. Applying a -0.0025V offset to VCORE_SOC in BIOS. CPU burn in 30 minutes @ 75 C, 5.37 Ghz
And the configurations that have
FAILED in less than 2 minutes:
- Applying -0.0010V to -0.0025V offset to CPU Vcore (Dynamic VCore DVID), and the same offset at the same time to VCORE_SOC
- To replicate: In BIOS, Tweaker menu, at the bottom, set CPU voltages from "Auto" to "Normal" and it will unlock an offset modifier.
- Running all voltages "Auto" and running EXPO profile
- Manually entering everything I could figure that the EXPO profile was trying to apply.
- 6000 Mhz memory speed
- Sub timing and timing profile (this was the most tedious thing ever)
- Voltage applications where it was visible/accessible.
- Trying to slightly increase SOC voltage to 1.28V
- Change memory voltages from "Auto" to "Normal"
- Disabled Auto Boost. Disabled Low Latency support.

2023.06.01 08:45 Muad-Diib-Official Gigabyte X570S Aorus Elite Ax POST/BIOS display issues
Hey guys, I have a PC I use for rendering and video editing live footage. I ended up frying my old motherboard and had to update my power supply, mother board, CPU, and Ram. Those are all new components in the list below. I’m having issues getting it to output even the bios to any screen. The pc powers up the fans all turn on, and it turns off if I hold the power button. I’ve tried it with my gpu and straight from the motherboard hdmi output. No signal sent on either. I realized after research that my new cpu has issues with this board out of the box,so I learned how to use the “Q-Flash plus” feature to update the bios. Without the cpu and ram installed I followed the steps of that process. Still no signal output. No POST screen. No bios. I’ve tried it with all the components I plan on using and tried it with just with the bare minimum of the ram and cpu. The hdmi cable I used works for other laptops and my Xbox so I know the cable is good. Also it should be known that for some reason this board has no status LEDs for any of the components(insane and annoying I know). Should I just return this motherboard and try a different one? Or is there some other work around I haven’t found yet? Was looking at a msi for replacement:
