2023.06.01 18:52 Ethanreink How many unique items are in Minecraft?

Now, you're probably thinking this is a googlable question, but that is not the case. Because you see, in my eyes, a wood sword is not the same as a wood sword with a sharpness 1 enchantment. A wood sword with 5 durability is not the same as a wood sword with 4 durability. So I am asking, how many ABSOLUTELY unique items are there? If enchantment levels matter, the ORDER in which the enchantments appear matter, and durability does too.
I will provide the elytra as an example. There are 8 possible enchantment combinations on an elytra, unbreaking 0-3 matched with mending 0-1. If the unbreaking and mending enchantments are both present on an elytra (3 combos), then those enchantments can have 2 different orders making there 11 different permutations of enchantments possible. (The reason order only matters when both enchantments are present is because Mending 0 unbreaking 0 is the same item as unbreaking 0 and mending 0).
An elytra has a durability of 432, if we multiply by our 11 enchantment combos, we get 4752 unique elytra (unless there's other book enchantments u can put on an elytra? Not sure)
Unless you have a lot of time, the don't worry about every possible shulker box :D

2023.06.01 18:37 PhiloTheSnivy Gaming & Modeling PC, £1500~ budget

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?

2023.06.01 17:41 68thoroughbred Return vent and air handler filters

I'm taking care of some maintenance items at my mom's house while I'm in town. She has been changing the filters at the air register returns. I took a peak at the air handler while installing a smart thermostat and realized there is a filter there as well. The whole system was replaced several years ago and I suspect it was an unintended duplication, but I wanted to check before making any changes.
Does the air handler still need a filter if there are already filters at the air returns? Or the opposite? The filter on the appliance is difficult to access for my mom, so trying to understand my options. For reference, the appliance filter is 16x25x5 and the return vent filters are 14x14x1 and the heat pump is a Carrier cnphp4321alaaaaa
Thank you for any guidance!

2023.06.01 17:27 LinsaFTW How to block bots and DDoS attacks with FlameCord

How to block bots and DDoS attacks with FlameCord
If you are running a BungeeCord or Waterfall proxy for your Minecraft server network, you might want to consider switching to FlameCord. FlameCord is a fork of Waterfall that protects your server from bot attacks and exploits with its advanced set of antibot filtering features. FlameCord also fixes bugs, improves performance and adds new functionalities to your server. FlameCord is the ultimate solution for a secure and fast Minecraft network.
FlameCord is easy to install and use. Just drag and drop FlameCord.jar into your server folder and run it. You can customize many FlameCord features in the flamecord.yml file. FlameCord’s antibot features are designed to filter out malicious traffic and minimize the impact of bot attacks and exploits on your server. FlameCord uses advanced packet security to check the rate and size of packets both single and time based. FlameCord also reduces the timeout time to prevent slowloris type attacks. FlameCord’s antibot system is highly customizable and can be configured to suit your needs.
FlameCord’s exploit prevention systems are focused on fixing major exploits, performance flaws and bugs that BungeeCord already has, and that have not yet been fixed in Waterfall. FlameCord also adds new methods for developers to have better API access. FlameCord also allows you to customize the MOTD without losing performance, and supports HEX colors. FlameCord also has better commands like /ip or /plugins that allow a better usage of BungeeCord.
FlameCord supports Geyser, a proxy that lets Bedrock Edition players join Java Edition servers. It supports most Java features and cross-play between different platforms. You can use it as a plugin or standalone proxy.

2023.06.01 17:15 LinsaFTW How to secure your Minecraft server with Flamecord and Bungeecord

If you run a Minecraft server, you know how important it is to protect it from hackers, DDoS attacks, and other threats. One way to do that is to use Flamecord, a proxy filter that can enhance your server’s performance and security.
Flamecord is a fork of Waterfall, which is a fork of Bungeecord. It adds some features and fixes some bugs that make it more suitable for large-scale servers. Flamecord can prevent bot attacks, proxy exploits, crash exploits, and other common issues that affect Minecraft servers.
Bungeecord is a proxy server that allows you to connect multiple Minecraft servers together. This way, you can have different worlds, modes, and plugins on different servers, but still let your players switch between them seamlessly. Bungeecord can also balance the CPU usage of your servers during attacks, by distributing the load among them.
Even if you run a single Spigot server, you can benefit from using Bungeecord as a pre-filter. By putting FlameCord in front of your Spigot server, you can hide your server’s IP address from the Internet, and protect it from direct DDoS attacks. You can also use Cloudflare Spectrum to proxy your Bungeecord server behind Cloudflare’s network, and get even more protection and speed.
To use Flamecord and Bungeecord, you need to download them from their respective websites, and configure them according to your needs. You can find detailed guides on how to do that online. Once you have them set up, you can enjoy a more secure and stable Minecraft server experience.
I hope this post was helpful. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to comment below.

2023.06.01 17:05 Rem-Chan23 [REQUEST][PC] Minecraft: Java and Bedrock Edition (Price: $29.99). Attempt 7! :)

Sorry for my bad english 😅😅 --- What is Minecraft: Java & Bedrock edition ---
Minecraft: Java & Bedrock edition is the ultimate sandbox game developed by Mojang Studios. Minecraft allows players to explore a blocky 3D world and let them build anything they can imagine. Players can create/destroy blocks, build structures, craft tools and weapons, mine items, and survive against mobs. I can build anything from a small home to a massive castle, and explore a vast world filled with hidden treasures and dangers. The Java edition is known for its modding community and offers a more robust set of features for players to explore, With its charming blocky graphics, unique gameplay mechanics, and endless replayability.
--- What aspects are there in the game that picks my interest? ---
There are many aspects of Minecraft but one of the most fascinating one is the truly open-world exploration and survival mechanics. It allows me to immerse myself in a truly endless and immersive story and world. The modding community offers hundred and thousands of mods and content, while the Bedrock edition's cross-platform play allows me to connect with friends no matter what device they play on. The ability to create my own story and adventure within the game thrills me so much! The creative mode lets us build anything that we desire. It can be used to build a simple 4x4 dirt house or rocket science stuff.
--- Why do I want it? ---
Minecraft is the ultimate sandbox experience. This game is a sandbox-style game. I love the freedom to create and explore without any specific goals or objectives, and the ability to make my own fun. At first, I thought (Sorry crafters, I was naive) it was just a block game, how lame! After playing the game and exploring and playing with a community this blocky and pixelated game does not feel lame, this feels like a really unique experience! Its soundtracks are very relaxing. There is no limit to what you can do in this game, which led us, me and my siblings to play for hundreds of hours, in fact this might be the most played game exceeding the duration which we played other games we played within the last 3 years many many times (all the other games combined). Additionally, there are hundreds and thousands of mods so it practically never runs out of content. xD
--- The price and my location/region ---
Minecraft: Java & Bedrock edition is available for $29.99 on the Microsoft Store and Amazon store. I realize that 30$ is quite expensive but I would be thrilled if someone gifted me the game. If you have any questions or you would like to reach out, you can find me on Steam, Discord or Reddit. I am always looking for new friends to play games with! So, let's explore this magical world together and create something amazing!
---- How to buy ----
I think that gifting through Amazon would be the best way, buy the product on Amazon and you get an email from them with the redeem code I suppose. Another option is Microsoft pc store
here are the instructions by Microsoft Knowledgebase. The game is priced at 29.99$
Thanks to anyone who has been reading my request till now! I am really thrilled to play this game again! I hope a generous soul would gift us this game even though it is quite expensive, my siblings and I would love to play this game!
Happy Crafting! :)

2023.06.01 16:47 Lothli Chapter 12: Ocelittle? No...

Heya! Welcome back to Maishul & Lothli, the only show where we keep it real by exploring different realities! I'm your host, Maishul! Let's get into it!
Today, we’ve got something very special today! You see, we’ve been playing a Minecraft steampunk mod pack, so I was like, why don’t we just tie that into this week’s entry?! So here we are!
“I still think we should do something that’s actually a story,” my boring buzzkill sister replies from within the game.
Unfortunately for her, I’m the one in control of today’s narration, and therefore I’m in charge of what we’re doing! So go ahead and explain the mod, Lothli.
“Right, sure, I guess.” Lothli sighs, maneuvering her character around our base. “So, this mod pack’s core is the Create mod, a steampunk-eqsue automation mod that involves cogwheels and various sources of low-tech power, the pinnacle of which is steam power.”
Lothli’s character vaguely gestures at all of the dinky little machines that she had built. None of them are even worth describing, for they are all utterly boring.
“Now, now, Maishul, you might think that my section is boring, but at least my machines function properly.” Lothli turns her character to the superior side of the base. “We can take a look at Maishul’s side over here, then. See how you compare.”
Now, this is where peak engineering takes place. Perfectly automated machines, with all of these beautiful cogwheels turning in tandem. Resources flowing in and out, like—
“Hey.” Lothli stares at me, disgruntled. “I can grudgingly excuse you embellishing your narration, but I’m not going to let you just lie to our audience like that.”
Of course, my sister is just jealous of my perfect factory. For she would never be able—
“If your factory's so perfect, what does it even produce?” my annoying sister asks, tapping her foot.
Well, you see, it’s so perfect that it produces every single Minecraft item in existence—
“Yeah, right. Okay, so I can at least explain my factories, which is something that you certainly aren’t able to do. So first, we have this input chest, where we place our raw inputs, such as ores and fuels. Then, we have them sorted, smelted, and alloyed. One of the most important resources is brass…”
So, audience! While my boring sister lectures to herself, we’re going to sneak off and go have some actual fun, okay? Okay!
Soooo… I might have lied just a little bit about my factory being awesome and stuff. But that’s okay! Factories aren’t really my thing anyways. Let me show you what I was really working on.
Tada! Isn’t that cool?
…Oh, wait, you can’t see. Um, let me describe it for you.
So, underneath her side of the base, I’ve planted something absolutely devastating. She’ll never see it coming.
Ocelots! Tons and tons of wild ocelots. They’re these little cat-like things that meow and run everywhere. They’re terribly annoying and get all over the machinery. And my sister’s a big softie, so she won’t be able to kill them, either.
click!
Alright, the trap is set. It’ll pop in around a minute, so I’d better get back to the surface!
“... and so we finally get to the endgame of the Create mod, which involves blaze-burners and steam engines. Now, we already covered blaze-burners before, but this time—ack!”
My grand machination rumbles, depositing the wild ocelots all over Lothli’s area. They scatter, getting into all of those irritating nooks and crannies, just like I predicted. Now, for the reaction we’ve been waiting for.
“MAISHUUUUUUUUUL!!!!”

2023.06.01 16:41 effennekappa Most people in this sub love duping items, can I ask you a few questions?

I'm not judging you, and I'm not against what you do. I did the same on other games. It's a single player and it's your own free time, so if duping items is your jam be my guest and knock yourself out. But since I love the mechanics behind gathering items in this game I'd really like to understand a couple things:
  1. When did you start duping? Was it your first run?
  2. What do you do with infinite rupies?
  3. Do you still enjoy exploring and finding stuff?
As for me, I haven't duped on Zelda only because when I did in other games it gradually ruined my experience (Minecraft, Valheim). Grinding is tedious in most games, and sometimes cheating can keep alive your interest. But for me, Totk balances exploring and gathering in such a fun way that after 150 hours I still have the adrenaline rush of finding/obtaining rare items. To my surprise I never felt in need of actually duping anything, that's why I'm asking.
Sav'aaq!
